Staycation

Last weekend Scott got  Friday AND Monday off of work for Memorial Day. We thought about going to Myrtle Beach for two days and a night but opted for doing some fun things here in Charleston instead.

Oh and not to brag but Scott had the Wednesday before off too so here is what we did:

Wednesday: Took Quincy to the pool for the first time-she seemed to like it once she got past the shock of the cool water.

Friday: Attempted to get the Quincy's pictures taken (to replace the set taken by the company with Sears but closed and never got them to us.) I saw attempted because Q would not let us go long enough for a shot. A little later we checked out Folly Beach, it sure was pretty and the weather was perfect, not too hot to be out of the water but not cold enough to get in. Quincy was just a little monkey hangin' onto mommy or daddy and again did not want to touch the water or sand for long, but we did get a few pics. Finally to finish off out beach day we stopped by a crab shack and tried she crab soup (on the Charleston bucket list) and experimented with crab legs. We're not huge sea food people but we both really enjoyed the  meal.

Saturday: We headed downtown-left the car at Battery Park where parking is free with no time limit and walked about all around up to the farmers market where also some of the Spoleto festival was happening, then down through the historic Charleston Market picked up our Christmas ornament,a wooden palmetto moon, for last Christmas (last December we tried but couldn't get it.) While we were there we picked up some lunch, then walked to Waterfront Park relaxed, watched the water, dreamed of a cruise (a cruise boat was docked nearby) and listened to a local guitarist. We walked the battery back to the car and passed by the multi-million dollar homes. It was worth the walk just about 3.5 miles and it was much easier to fully enjoy the city on feet then driving through.

Sunday: Church, meetings, Heat game etc.

Monday: Succeded getting a few decent pictures of Quincy. mostly close ups while sitting on daddy's lap or holding on to mommy's legs. :) For dinner we went to Victoria Gonzalez's a church friend and Scott's co-worker for a Mexican dinner thanks to Scott but mostly Victoria. (Yes mom, Q and I wore some yellow in thought of the rest of you back home.)

Oh yeah and somewhere within the week this has been happening:
*just watch the first half, the wiggly camera on the rest might make you sick
