Getting everywhere

February 25, 2013
Dear Quincy,

Wholy-Mohly  you have grown up soooo much the last few weeks! Daddy was so anxious for you to roll over and be mobile, but after you I don't think he will be quite so anxious for the next kids. You now roll across the length of the living room in no time, only to be stopped by a wall; you are at the beginning stages of the army crawl and will scoot yourself forward to a desired item; you sit up nice and tall and when nudged you keep yourself stable and don't fall over; you also do a sit-scoot, where you are a foot away from the place you started and stayed sitting the whole time; you love to stand (not on your own-with assistance); you are great with toys and you want to eat everything; and occasionally you'll get up on all fours and rock back and forth. I have a feeling your going to be getting into even more things here soon.

Everybody thinks you are the most adorable thing, and well, you are.

Grocery shopping with you when you ride in the Moby Wrap takes much longer these days because everyone wants to look at you, ask how old you are, your name, or what developmental skills you are working on.

You light up my day with your smile, laugh, and giggles

Thanks for being my little friend and my angel.

Love you lots!

Mom

Hi

Quincy's favorite toys

Mmmm peas

We started solids 1 day before Quincy was 5 months old. She had been very interested in what we were doing during dinner and was trying to get our food so I figured it was time. Q is eating pureed solids and breakfast and dinner. So far she has had rice cereal, sweet potatoes, green beans, sweet peas, bananas, and oatmeal, Quincy is doing pretty good with it!

Quincy's First Trip to the Beach

On Presidents Day (Feb 18) we finally  made it to the beach! We have lived 30 minutes away for the past 6 months and haven't been due to being 9 month pregnant, having a newborn, being "too busy," and it getting cold. We had a nice walk on the beach, and enjoyed driving around the beach town and exploring.

All the houses raised  off the ground is pretty fun to see...we aren't in Utah anymore!
What a cute pair

Beautiful and peaceful beach
We love you Q!

Project 1

I know this is FAR from being post-able but I wanted to share my painting. I feel like it is silly, but I am proud of myself too. I first picked colors and created a dozen different options using paint on the computer of geometric art. Projecting needs to start small for me-straight lines with tape. Scott and I picked our favorites then I perfected the square and rectangles layout and went to work.

12 painting sessions later...

Okay so I know this would look better if we actually had a bed frame or headboard (maybe a project for down the road) and the wall wasn't cheap white, we had more space, and, and, and... but for my small space temporary apartment in Charleston what suggestions to you have to make it look better?  Anyone know of where to find better-awesome pillows in these colors?

Feb 7, 2013

Dear Quincy,                                                                                                          February 7, 2012

I think it is funny when you suck on my nose or lick my face.

I love you,

Mom

PS, Just because you roll now doesn't mean you should do it when it is nap or bedtime, you get stuck next to the edge and on your tummy and get frustrated and just cry. Instead, you should go to sleep. We would both be happier.

Quincy in January

Since we are away from ya'll I figure you don't mind tons and tons of pictures.

Cuddling with the quilt Nana made
Hanging out with dad... clearly we kept her up to long
Just playn'
Checking out someone her own size, baby Samantha Collins from the ward. Quincy loved her she even reached out and held her hand for awhile...then I had to move her away so Quincy wouldn't attack the smaller baby.

Blessing Day

We blessed Quincy on December 30, 2012, in Utah so our families could be apart of it. She was four months and one day old, being a chubby baby and a a little older Scott was worried about holding Quincy up for the length of the blessing. Dad Richens said something to the effect that if Scott’s arms were getting tired and he was about to drop her, you know you've talked to long.

Scott wore his dress white "choker" uniform (it's also a summer uniform...shhh, don't tell) But he forgot his white uniform pants at home in SC. Whoops! Thankfully he could hem up his brother's baptism pants with tape and it looked almost as good (shhh... don't tell.)

Mom Richens bought Quincy’s Beautiful blessing gown, (yes it was a gown not a dress) sweater, shoes, ruffle tights, bracelet  and a bow. We also added a pearl beads to the bow to match the rest of the ensemble.  She was a little angel!

The blessing was beautiful. Quincy was blessed with virtue and obedience, to be an example and a light in the darkness of what is right, and to have charity towards her family and all mankind.

By the time we had pictures, Quincy had had it and was ready for a nap, I can't complain though, she was So good at church and during the blessing.

Thanks to all our family for supporting and coming. Thank you Scott for being a priesthood holder for our family.

The only picture of her adorable shoes, I had to share.

More of Utah in a nutshell

Quincy's 1st experience with SNOW!; I love my sisters; My mom re-meeting Q after a few months and my dad 1st meeting  Q at the Richens' home. Scott's baby picture in the background. Yep she looks like her daddy.
