Scott 2014

Big events for Scott this past year:

*For his birthday Scott's parents and I sent  him skydiving of course his birthday was in March, we didn't go until May, and then due to plane problems he didn't actually go until September

 



*He promoted from Ensign to Lieutenant Junior Grade in May:

 

*At the command Scott also got a higher position at work as a division leader, over a group of people teaching math rather then just an instructor. And as of today, January 21, 2015 Scott will be up the ranks again as CTE, Command Training Evaluator, a top 3 position for someone his rank. Yay Scott!



*Dillon, Scott's baby brother was married in June! Ordering a trip to Utah! Congrats to Dillon and Lauren, we are thrilled for your happiness. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, had a reception in Bountiful, and we decorated their get away car in post-it-notes, balloons inside, and window paint.

*Well... we were already planning a Utah trip in July for family time and the Richens' Lake Powell week (yes even with a toddler and being pregnant) So I, Jenny, got to be in Utah with 7 weeks from early June to late July. That cut the pain of traveling down as well as the cost. Scott flew out for the 2 separate weeks and went to work in the middle.

 When you are in Powell you just expect heat. Well it was hot, not not terrible. if we had spent a week outside in July with no AC in South Carolina it would have been completely unbearable.

Thanks Gramps we had a great time.

*We moved thanks for Scott for doing all the lifting since I was on light duty yet again for our move.

*Scott got to go on an Aircraft carrier for about a week to see how they work and all that jazz. I think he rode the USS Truman. His two highlights of the trip were 1. flying on to the carrier, having the plane catch the cords and watching it all happen and 2. watching the flight ops right up close and personal, all the fighter jets flying on and off the plane. He shared some videos with me that were pretty neat. He enjoyed the positive treatment for being an officer and even just being one rank ahead of all the other guys he went with. When he left he didn't know all the details of when he was getting on and off the boat and once he knew when he was coming back he couldn't tell me. I couldn't not let him go on the trip because he missed others for this reason or that and he really wanted to go but thankfully he wasn't gone any longer because the biggest event of the year happened just a day and a half after her returned-Jocelyn was born. Now he's hoping he'll still get a chance for a week long Sub ride. To Scott a week in a sub, cool- longer then that, not so fun, props to the submariners out there!
